Executive ClothiersWell, I finally got a chance to see for myself what all the buzz was about with the release date quickly approaching and nominations made prior to the film “Dreamgirls” opening on Christmas Day.  The movie is absolutely phenomenal with an all-star cast including Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, and the diva Beyonce Knowles will keep you on the edge of your seats.  If you are not anxious and planning an outing with your family on Christmas evening then you should get on the case right away.  If you do not already have your tickets then go get them now.  The movie will grab you from the opening scene to the very end as you take a journey with a group of childhood friends that pursuit a dream of becoming a star.  Trials and tribulations on the highway of success will move you as you fill the joys and pains as if they are your own.  You will leave knowing that dreams really do come true, but you will also question if you are really ready for it to happen in your own life.

Prior to seeing the film I was extremely skeptical that “Dreamgirls” would be nothing more than some good music and beautiful women in pretty clothes.  To my surprise it was an awesome movie that is extremely good in every aspect.  Prior to seeing the movie I was not sure how the play that I had seen as a little boy would actually transform into a film, but “Dreamgirls,” does very well.  Not needing talent, but a big break--is a line that will stay with you long after you have seen the movie, you will leave “Dreamgirls” knowing that any thing is possible.

It is no secret that Beyonce is phenomenal as a singer and dancer, but she never had a serious role to establish her as a true actress.  Well, that is a statement of the past.  Beyonce can act and did a great job as Deena Jones.  Beyonce said that once she heard the Broadway hit was to become a film, she had to be a part of it and to use it as an opportunity to really show her talent as an actress.  “I’d heard about the Broadway play since I was 15 years old. I wouldn’t know what a diva was if wasn’t for this play,” she said. “So when I heard they were doing the film I said, ‘I have to be a part of it.  I don’t care if I’m in it for five minutes; I just want to be a part of this movie’.”  Becoming a part of the cast was not that easy for the diva who was already a household name.  Director Bill Condon was not quite sure she could switch out of her very aggressive Beyonce stage personality we know as Sasha.  He was not confident that the young girl that performs hard like Tina Turner could transform herself to the classy high soprano style of Diana Ross.

Now it is a great deal of talk about Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce having some tension that does not seem to be true.  It is a well known fact that a great deal of the movie is centered around the role of Effie.  Knowles says that she knew going into the project that Deena was not as great of a role as the one Jennifer Hudson’s and she wanted to be a part of the film in any capacity.  Now she did not want people to confuse the role with her personal story, which is not a great stretch.  Seems that the Destiny’s Child could have easily been cast into the movie and one could question if Mathew Knowles was similar to Curtis (Jamie Foxx) in anyway with making critical business decisions to thrust the group to the next level.  Seems it can be some great similarities, but they are not saying.  It has also been mentioned that Diana Ross may have had some issues with the movie due to it being loosely based on her life and The SupremesBeyonce said that she was not aware of Miss Ross having any issues with neither the film nor her playing the role of Deena, which is supposed to be based upon Diana Ross.  The bottom line is you have to go see this movie.

When have we ever known Donald Trump to have a forgiving heart?  Clearly he should have said “You’er Fired!” to Tara Conner, who seems to be a loose young woman with whore like behavior.  The underage drinker known for her excessive partying and alleged cocaine use turned stomachs as she stood and cried during Trump’s press conference announcing his piss poor decision to give this two bit tramp a second chance.  Donald stood and made excuses for his pageant whore that lived up to all the stereotypes that many people think are a part of the world of pageantry.  “Tara got caught up in the whirlwind of New York.  She made some very, very bad choices,” he said.  “She admits that she made mistakes.”  Well, how could she deny that she was a drunk and party girl?  Miss USA will receive treatment for alcohol and drug abuse is a great roll model for the world.  A person that represents our country and holds such a tile is a known substance abuser, which  seems to be the perfect image in the mind of Trump; not a good decision and he has lived to regret some of his choices and we will live to see him regret this one.  Former Miss USA, Kenya Moore, strongly disagrees with Trump’s actions along with a plethora of people.

Not even a week ago I was able to catch Patti LaBelle performance at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia.  Mary Mary and Yolanda Adams were on just before the powerhouse diva.  Each performed their duets with Patti that are on her latest CD and her fist time ever Gospel CD, “The Gospel According to Patti.”  True to the Patti get on the floor form--she sang and gave a moving performance like only Patti can.  However, those of you that were hoping to catch Patti at a mega-church near you will have to give it up.  The tour has been canceled.  A press release from the singer’s management company blames the promoter for the cancellation, claiming they failed to meet their obligations.  Additionally, LaBelle cites “inconsistencies coupled with a breach of contract” as part of the reason she scrapped the tour.  “I really had hoped to continue to reach the gospel audience as we had originally planned,” LaBelle said.  “But I have an obligation to my staff to make sure they can keep their plans without last minute changes and to make sure they are paid for the work they do.”  “The Gospel According to Patti” tour kicked off in October and was headed toward Philadelphia, Cleveland, and St. Louis, among other cites, before Patti pulled the plug.  Don Renee’, the public relations contact for the tour, was not clear that the tour had actually been cancelled nor was he sure of the reasons.  Seems he was given conflicting information and not clear what to say to the press.  As for now the tour is over.

Not long after a vicious brawl that sent Carmelo Anthony to the bench for 15 games, the Denver Nuggets believe they have found the right answer for the future in Allen Iverson.  After two weeks of anticipation, news finally broke Tuesday afternoon that the four-time scoring champion was traded by the Philadelphia 76ers to the Nuggets of the Western Conference.  Iverson ends a tumultuous 10 seasons with the 76ers without having won an NBA title.  “We haven’t won a championship, and I think we were a long way from winning a championship, even with Allen,” Sixers Chairman Ed Snider said.  “It was time for us to take a deep breath and say we’ve got to move in a different direction.  Allen wanted to move in a different direction.”  The trade will send Andre Miller, Joe Smith and two 2007 first-round picks to the 76ers for Iverson and Ivan McFarland, according to reports.

Carmelo Anthony was suspended for 15 games and six other players were penalized as commissioner David Stern came down hard on both teams after the Nuggets and Knicks acted like tramps and brawled at Madison Square Garden.  Nate Robinson and J.R. Smith each got 10 games, and four other players also were suspended.  Stern fined each organization $500,000.  But there was a separate penalty for Knicks coach Isiah Thomas, who had warned Anthony not to go into the lane before the mayhem started Saturday night.  Mardy Collins, whose hard foul on Smith sparked the fighting, was suspended six games and Knicks teammate Jared Jeffries will miss four.  Also, the KnicksJerome James and Dever’s Nene were both penalized one game for leaving the bench area during the chaos.  Clearly these guys acted like common thugs in front of the world.  A total brawl that could not be controlled is absolutely inexcusable.  The behavior of these men was childlike and dumb at best.  The NBA is going to have to do something to groom these young boys that are instantly made millionaires that have no class, self respect, or etiquette to have behaved like animals on national television.

Terrell Owens must not have taken his medication before the game last week when he spit in the face of DeAngelo HallOwens was fined $35,000 for his uncouth behavior.  Hall should have pressed assault charges against T.O. for his trashy attack.  Spitting on an individual is a form of assault and an offense that can result in one being arrested.  Hall told the press that Terrell makes $10 million this season and a fine is not going to mean a thing to him so he should be suspended.  Well, the NFL did not suspend him so DeAngelo should press charges against T.O. and sue him for his filthy attack.  The problem and help that this man needs is not happening and he continues to have these outbursts.  Spitting is not uncommon in the world of football; last season, Washington’s Sean Taylor was kicked out of a playoff game for spitting at Tampa Bay’s Michael Pittman and was later fined $17,000.  In 1998, Tampa Bay linebacker Hardy Nickerson was fined the same amount for spitting on Carolina fullback William Floyd.  In 1997, Denver linebacker Bill Romanowski was fined $7,500 for spitting in the face of 49ers receiver J.J. Stokes; Owens might have picked up the nasty habit from him since they were teammates at the time.  T.O. needs to really get some critical help before he does something that he cannot apologize his way out of nor will the Dallas Cowboys front office be able to cover up.  Get the man some help and stop allowing him to act like a tramp.  DeAnglo’s publicist said that he did not want to talk about the incident and that he was moving on and preparing for the next game.  However, Hall deserves to be commended for his response to the T.O.’s attack by taking the high road and not responding physically.

Drug Dealers and Killers Strike Again50 Cent is not covered!  An insurance company for the gangster rapper is reportedly refusing to cover up to $10 million in damages he could face with the loss of a lawsuit brought by a Washington D.C. area disc jockey.  National Fire Insurance says its famous client waited over a year before reporting the incident in which one of his G-Unit posse members assaulted WKYS-FM’s Richard “DJ Zxulu, the Big-Lipped Bandit” Dunkerson, according to reports.  The length of time reportedly gives the company an out to invalidate the rapper’s coverage.  As a result, the insurance firm is no longer required to underwrite 50 should he lose the civil suit.  Looks like the rapper born Curtis Jackson will have to pay a hunk and a chunk out of his own pocket.  The assault at WKYS’ studios—located in the Washington suburb of Lanham, Maryland—was sparked in January 2005 when Zxulu made light-hearted comment about a wireless cell phone headset being worn by a member of 50’s crew, saying it made him look like a Vulcan on Star Trek, according to reports.  Zxulu then reportedly threw the Spock hand salute and said, “Greetings, my Vulcan brother.”  Once the interview was over, police say members of G-Unit’s posse jumped Zxulu, punching and kicking him and allegedly stealing his phone.  Dunkerson also claims that the G-Unit track “Hate It Or Love It” ridiculed him and boasted of the radio station incident.  Well, it seems that 50’s crew may have given the DJ a very expensive ass whipping.

According to my “Street Committee”…A source has told Obnoxious that Tara Conner nearly lost her crown not just because she was partying and her whore like behavior—but she was testing the waters with a number of rappers.  The claim the source makes is that in recent weeks, Miss USA was getting extremely close with The Game, Cam’ron, and Jim Jones.  Allegedly, Tara loved hanging with the rappers and said they were exciting and may have been in some very serious compromising positions with the men.  Seems Tara would get high and would let herself go sexually.  The source was not clear if she had sex with all three of the men, but at least one of them has taken part in a sexual escapade with Tara.  Now this has not been confirmed, but seems the Miss Universe Committee was very upset with her behavior and her like for gangster rappers.

In more whore news, Maia Campbell is in some serious trouble and making pornographic movies.  According to the clip that was sent to Obnoxious of Maia knows what to do and does it well.  The young actress that starred alongside LL Cool J and Debbie Allen in the television show “In the House,” is very possibly on drugs and making her living as an adult film star.   Seems that Debbie or LL would have reached out to the young lady to help her, but might have now hit a point of no return, it was said that Maia was a little too hot to handle when she was a student at Spelman.  One source says the drug use may be new, but she has always enjoyed good sex with a lot of different guys for some years now.  Maia is no beauty queen now and really needs some serious help.

Lloyd Banks of G-Unit had a show in Montreal, Canada on December 17 at EB Lounge.  The rest of the story is a rumor, but to every rumor lies a bit of truth.  It was suggested that Banks hit someone and rolled out of the club.  On the other hand it was said that someone in the G-Unit hit someone or got hit.  However, Banks reportedly attempted to perform his show, but only got through about four songs when something went wrong.  A group of men were said to have jumped onto the stage and started a ruckus of some sort.  A melee broke out with chairs, bottles, and mics flying.  No harm came to Banks and the G-Unit security ended the show and G-Unit left.  Check out the video circulating online to see the action for yourself.  It is said that Ving Rhames refused to kiss a main in a new film where he plays a sexually confused fireman.  Although, Ving played a drag queen he is not going to kiss the same sex on the big screen.  You have officially been choked by the bow tie!
