Good Times ," cast was surprised during
their mini reunion when Janet Jackson sashayed
across the stage and joined Jimmy Walker , Bernadette
Stanis , who looked a fool with her purse on her arm, and
Ralph Carter . Janet almost
popped out of that form fitting dress when her strap dropped from
her shoulder. Janet's man announced the
night before at the ASCAP Awards the he and Janet
would marry this year. Not sure if he was joking or serious,
but I guess we will have to wait and find out. No better
choice to introduce the self-proclaimed King of the South than Don
King . Waving a US flag the outrages boxing promoter
introduced T.I . However, we were reminded
it was a black production when the sound system went out several
times during his performance of " What You Know ."
The all too common Jamie Foxx performed his latest
single, " DJ Play A Love Song ," with
Fantasia and then he threw his tongue down the
thick bodied singer's throat mid  performance.
Jamie is ghetto as hell and Fantasia
is illiterate-hence the perfect couple. P.
Diddy kept it real when he blasted the sound man on live
television. Sean told him he destroyed
T.I.'s performance, which served as a warning
for him to have it right when his Bad Boy artist
Young Joc performed and was joined by Diddy
for " It's Goin Down ."
David Banner and Vivica A. Fox
gave BET a planned pat on the back for the $14
million raised for the Hurricane Katrina effort. Now Vivica
is my girl but she looked like hell in that home made
looking dress and the hair just was not right. Vivica
is fine, but it seemed that she decide d
to go to the show at the last minute and just threw something on.
What was wrong with Chaka Khan ? The
lifetime Achievement Award went to someone that was obviously high.
Chaka at times seems to be totally out
of it and in a daze. Stevie Wonder and
Prince both wrote songs that made Chaka
famous were joined by India Arie and
the gospel compromising Yolanda Adams . Backstage
I asked her again if she was going to cross over and sing R&B
and in an attempt to give me a more honest answer she said that
she did not know what songs will do when she is writing them, but
she would never write lyrics about sex and baby this and baby that.
Well, Yolanda might as well go ahead and
do R&B all the way and stop playing with it. It is obvious
to everyone that she is not as committed to Christ as she proclaims
or she would not always say yes when she is asked to sing secular
music. Although, Yolanda did say it was only
planned for her to sing " I'm Every Woman ,"
Chaka was desperate when the person that was supposed
to sing the song backed out on her at the last minute. Harry
Belafonte received the Humanitarian Award and backstage--true
to his outspoken form--he shared that the letter that Dr.
King wrote A Letter From Birmingham Jail
was not written to him personally, but to clergy that had not supported
the Civil Rights Movement. |

  Jamie
Foxx's actions during Kanye
West acceptance speech makes you wonder if the two are
still feuding. Backstage Jamie was asked
about his feud with LL Cool J and their reconciliation.
"We decided we would let it go, we are both two old to hold
petty things against each other," Jamie said.
"It was stupid and we let it go when he asked me to be on
his album." Clearly Jamie's behavior is
far to ghetto for my taste he is an extremely talented man. However,
money cannot buy class nor purchase character. Jamie
implied that to end something with him you have to humble
yourself and approach him first. Now we must wonder if he
was joking or serious when he attempted to embarrasses Kanye
during his remarks. The rumor has been that since
the Grammy's the musically talented West and the
uncouth Oscar winner have been feuding. West has
been accused of telling Jamie to stand back and
watch a real star perform. Jamie is said
to have gone off and asked did Kanye know who
he was. Kanye thanked Jamie for the collaboration,
but Jamie acted a fool and made faces behind him
and even pulled out a portable fan and held it behind West
head. Jamie never thanked Kanye
, but attempted to slight him when he shouted Three
Six Mafia , who are also Oscar winners. Jamie
was asked backstage why he held up a fan to Kanye's
head when he responded that he had to cool the nigga off.

 Prophesy
fulfilled...I told you just last week that it was a serious breakdown
and lack of chemistry on " The View ."
Star Jones made a dumb move when she attempted
to slap Barbara Walters and the other co-stars
with a premature announcement of her leaving which was actually
her being fired. Star has made a series
of serious mistakes and picked fight that she cannot win. Perhaps
due to her weight, which caused her to have low self-esteem, Star
Jones used her wedding as an opportunity to promote herself
and she used the show to promote her wedding. It will be interesting
to see how she rebounds from this TKO. Barbara
says that she feels betrayed by Star , but she
will really feel the raft of the African American community if Star
is not replaced by a black female. Poor Star
has been publicly dissed and dismissed. |

 Atlanta
Mayor Shirley Franklin made it happen. Auction canceled
and $32 million raised in one week. Sotheby's had to cancel
its scheduled auction of sermons, books, notes, and speeches from
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr.
Walter Massey , President of Morehouse College
, also stepped to the plate in a major way to purchase
the King Papers . No word on weather or not
the pastors of mega churches that Rev. Bernice King
had seated in the pulpit at her mother's funeral aided in this effort.
Not sure if any of the Big Bishops contributed in the effort
to regain possession of Kings Works ; however,
they paraded like peacocks during his wife's funeral. Now
one can safely assume that neither Bishop Long
nor Bishop Jakes contributed to this effort because
that would have been all over the camera telling the world of their
great deed. What a shame that the King kids
did not have enough clout on their own to secure their father's
papers on their own. |

Rhymes' ex is a lesbian and he cannot stand it. Contrary
to popular belief that men enjoy women that like other women Busta
does not. The mother of his three children, Joanne
Wood, has come out of the closet. The two have been together
on and off for over ten years, but it seems that he has finally
won a four year court battle for custody of his children. Born
Trevor Smith , Busta Rhymes ,
accused Joanne of having sex with a women in front of her three
sons, doing drugs, and being an absentee mother. In effort
to save face Joanne Wood, who has been in a rocky on again off again
relationship with Smith for over 10 years, came out swinging when
she spoke to the press. His ego is definitely hurt," she said.
"If he's being emotional, then let him just be emotional--that's
like the Bitch in him. If you want to be emotional, I don't
have a problem with that, but he is wearing his emotions on his
sleeve." Trevor's fight might not be over,
according to Joanne she feels the judge may have discriminated against
her based upon her sexual preference. For all of you that
may think she turned to women due to Busta that
is not the case. Joanne says she has liked women all along.
I guess she had an itch that Busta could

 Drug
Dealers and Killers Strike Again ... Dallas Austin
has been jailed in Dubai for smuggling illegal drugs into
the country. The Atlanta producer's people have denied that
he has been in jail. However, it is unclear if Dallas
has made it out and is back in the states by my deadline.
Arab news outlets say it is true that Dallas
has been detained. Austin was en route
to supermodel Naomi Campbell's three day birthday
party in the Arab country, but was detained and imprisoned by Dubai
police when he was allegedly discovered transporting cocaine. It
has been confirmed by Dallas ' people that he was
in fact in Dubai for Campbell's party, but they
did not confirm nor deny if he was arrested. It is said that
Dallas
lost his passport in Dubai and is now vacationing in London
while he waits for immigration to issue him a new passport. Well,
I guess Dallas ' people think everyone is deaf,
blind, dumb, cripple, and crazy to believe if he was in Dubai and
lost his passport he was allowed to leave the country. According
to the Department of State if an American looses his or her passport
while traveling in a foreign country they report to the US Embassy
in that country and remain their until they can get another passport
or clearance to leave. My contact at that State
Department went on to explain to me it is highly unlikely to leave
one country and enter another if one has lost their passport. A
source close to Dallas told me that he is actually
still in Dubai in jail where he will remain until his court date
in July. The source also told Obnoxious
that Dallas may have had crack cocaine in his
possession at the time of his arrest. Dallas

 DMX
cannot stay out of trouble.
A White Plains, New York judge issued and arrest warrant for
DMX this week after he missed a court date to
face a multitude of driving charges. Earl Simmons
, had been granted two previous postponements, but the
judge said she has run out of patience. The 35-year-old rapper
flew to Arizona where he performed live from the desert for the
BET Awards . His attorney claims he became
ill. DMX was pulled over on June 2 for speeding
and making unsafe lane changes. Once he was stopped, police
officers discovered he was not wearing a seat belt and did not have
a driver's license. Nine days later he was ticketed for driving
on the shoulder of the Hutchinson River Parkway in Harrison. On
June 16, police in Scottsdale, Arizona cited him for carrying a
concealed handgun outside a nightclub. Last month he was arrested
in London after refusing to put on a seat belt and becoming abusive
on a flight from New York authorities said. Recently, DMX
has been rapping a great deal about God and I guess he
realizes it is going to take Jesus, Allah, Buda, and Confucius to
get him out of this mess. |

Quick surrendered to police
in Fontana, California to begin serving a five month sentence for
assaulting his sister. In 2003, DJ Quick ,
born David Marvin Blake , pulled a gun on his sister
in the midst of a family argument. Last year the rapper plead
guilty to the assault and was ordered to spend 45 days in jail on
weekends, but the Compton rapper failed to show up even once. As
a result, Judge Keith Davis increased DJ Quick's
jail time to 150 consecutive days and ordered him to begin serving
his time immediately. It has been awhile since we have heard
from Quick , but he will not be able to promote
his new CD " Greatest Hits Live at the House of Blues
," recorded this past February. Backstage at
the BET Awards Lim Kim's mother and brother told
the press that she is due to come home next week. Christopher
said that " Count Down To Lock Down ,"
was one of the best decisions they could have made to give a true
account of what his sister was going through leading up to her having
to turn herself in. |

Bow Wow , born Shad Gregory Moss
is a good time in the sack. According to an exotic dancer
from Atlanta, Bow Wow is literally a "Wow" in
the bed. The 20 year old exotic dancer claims she dated
or had sex with Bow Wow on several occasions.
The woman says she met Bow Wow while dancing
at a private party for a group of men in the music industry at
an Atlanta hotel. "He could not take his eyes off me," she
said. We met up more than a dozen times over the next month.
The relationship ended just as quickly as it began. According
to the dancer Bow Wow cut her off without reason
and all of a sudden stopped returning her calls or text messages.
The fling with the stripper is allegedly the reason he and
Ciara have split. The exotic dancer claims
to have been with Sean Jay from Field
Mob and Pimpin from Dem Franchise
Boyz , but Bow Wow was the best of
all three of her encounters. The Game
is said to have asked for a woman's hand in marriage. |

The
show was live from the Shrine Auditorium in a star-filled night
celebrating Black Entertainment. A mix of individuals top
in the fields of music, film, sports, philanthropy and accomplishment
with some first time winners; Prince , Chris
Brown , T.I ., Kirk Franklin
. Mary J. Blige , Kanye
West , Jamie Foxx all received honors
twice on the night displaying Black Star Power .
Seems like only yesterday BET had the
first show in Las Vegas and was begging celebrities and media
to attend the event, those days are long gone and now the BET
Awards has to be one of the most significant nights
in entertainment. Obnoxious will remain
true to form in my critique of the night and all of the highs
and all time lows. First off Damon Wayans
was no comparison to how great Will and Jada
Smith hosted the show last year. Wayans
is funny, but seriously lacked something necessary to
keep the show flowing well. Beyonce is
beyond words and after her show stopping performance of " Déjà
Vu " Damon could have told us
good night. Jay-Z let the world know that he is the one
getting all of Beyonce's bootie when he patted her on the backside
during his rap segment.
Word
has it that Pharrell is the next Hip Hop artist
that will promote Hewlett Packard computers in a hot commercial.
BET might start a separate award show
for Hip Hop specifically. Not sure but it seems that some
of the folks at the top of the Networks food chain think that
the award show has reached a point that is so large that it may
be necessary to separate the two audiences. Speaking of
Hip Hop, rappers Young Jeezy did not attend
the awards due to his not being nominated. Ludacris
is working on his album and did not attend as well.
Angie Stone was at the awards with a
young guy that looked like he could be a son, but acted like he
was more to the singer than her child, but would like to make
one with her. What is up with baldheaded India ?
She was so star struck she cold not even perform with Chaka
, Stevie , Prince ,
and Yolanda . Jermaine Dupri
had the hottest after party with the likes of Majic Juan
Don , Mike Tyson , Hoopz ,
Sisqo , Bow Wow , The
Wayans Brothers , John Sally , Lady
Of Rage , Krucial Keys , Hits
, and Janet Jackson . The official
BET after party at Hotel Roosevelt was hot as
well. The night of Black Star Power had some major highs
and lows, but we will have to wait and see what BET
comes up with next year to continue the rise to the top.
