Mychael Bell is a free man—at least for now.  The 17-year-old, one of the six African American teens known by the world as Jena 6, has been released from jail and the prosecutor confirmed that he will no longer seek to try him as an adult.  Shortly after bail was set at $45,000, the young man walked out of the LaSalle Parish courthouse and was met by his family, and civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton.  Prosecutors claim that Bell was one of the six black teens involved in the beating of a white student.  His case sparked national outrage and a massive civil right demonstration outside the courthouse last week.  Protestors saw Bell’s initial charge of attempted murder as excessive and racially biased.  The charge was eventually reduced to aggravated second-degree battery.

Bell’s conviction in adult court was thrown out this month by the state’s 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal, which said he should not have been tried as an adult on that particular charge.  However, Bell remained behind bars after District Attorney Reed Walters said he would appeal.  On the day Bell was released Walters said he still believes there was legal merit to trying Bell as an adult, but decided it was in the best interest of the victim, Justin Barker, and his family to let the juvenile court handle the case.  “They are on board with what I decided,” Walters said at the news conference.  The teen still faces trial as a juvenile in the December incident, but will no longer face a maximum of 15 years in prison on his aggravated second-degree battery conviction.  Mychael Bell is not totally out of the woods yet.  According to David Utter, director of the Louisiana Juvenile Justice Project, said conviction on those counts could keep Bell behind bars until he turns 21.  It seems to me that our African American elected officials still have a great deal of work to do, instead of meeting for Congressional Black Caucus in D.C., which is nothing more than a huge party.

Tyler Perry’s dream home has been a nightmare for the past two weeks thanks to an 89-year-old Atlanta lawyer and businessman who claims he still owns the property.  Moreton Rolleston Jr., a former segregationist whose family home of 40 years was demolished by Tyler to make room for his own mansion.  Rolleston has not only been a thorn in the entertainment mogul’s side, but has been a nuisance to the local courts for more than 20 years, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.    Rolleston keeps filing lawsuits in efforts to regain the Buckhead (upscale Atlanta Community) property despite a series of rulings that have seen him jailed, fined and threatened with disbarment, the paper reports.  Earlier this month, Rollestion showed up at the property with police cars in tow seeking to kick out Perry’s construction crews, contending he still is the rightful owner.

“At this point,” Perry told the newspaper, “I just don’t know what to do to get rid of this guy.”  Rolleston purchased the property more than 40 years ago, and in 1962 built his family home—a five-bedroom granite masterpiece with a large pool and pool house.  Through the years, he managed to lose ownership of the land, and it was purchased in October 2005 by Perry for $9 million.  Perry tore down Rolleston’s home and began construction on his own 30,000 square-foot French Provincial mansion—which should be ready by Thanksgiving.  Rolleston has been filing lawsuits to resume ownership of the land since 1985.  He has fought the case through courts in Cobb, Fulton, and Glynn counties as well as Federal Court.  When he’s lost, he’s appealed, the paper reported.  He has even sued lawyers, sheriffs, and a judge.  He’s filed for bankruptcy, only to have that rejected by the courts.  Rolleston was the owner of the heart of Atlanta Hotel, which opened in 1956 as one of the top places to stay between New York and Miami—but only if you were Caucasian.  He refused to accommodate Black patrons and even attempted to apply his segregationist ways to the Atlanta school system—suggesting the district could avoid desegregation by selling school building to private business, thereby circumventing Federal dictates.  His various attempts to maintain segregation were ultimately defeated.

Rolleston is furious that an African American man has purchased his land and had the temerity to tear down his home and build one of his own.  It is more than obvious that his actions are racially motivated, but he is within his right to go after Perry with his asinine civil suits.  It will be interesting to see what Mr. Rolleston does when Tyler moves into his new home.  There are great deal of whispers about who will be the lucky lady to one day share in Perry’s fortune, but the movie mogul might have someone in his life already that no one knows about at this time.  However, Obnoxious has come across the name of an individual that is rumored to have been playing house with Tyler Perry for the past three years.  I will keep you posted once I get proof.

David Banner continues to defend Hip Hop, but he is really defending gangster rap in a rather embarrassing manner.  As previously reported, David Banner attended the recent Hip Hop hearings hosed by the House Energy and Commerce Committee of the U.S. Congress and read a prepared statement to vigorously defend the genre’s use of offensive language and images.  The Mississippi-born and bred rapper continues to speak passionately against Hip Hop detractors in a follow-up interview with Billboard.com.

In his prepared statement on Capitol Hill, Banner said, “If you fix our communities, we’ll fix our lyrics.”  Asked how that would affect change, he told Billboard:  “In the Katrina hearing, one congressman asked, ‘Haven’t we done enough for Katrina?’  They live in a world that we don’t live in, and it’s hard to speak for a majority when you don’t live under the same conditions.  People don’t sing happy songs if they’re broke.”  Banner continued in his flawed argument to state the following:  “Rap music does for us the same thing gospel did for the slaves,” he added.  “We communicate our anger through our music.”  David has also taken issue with folks who are attempting to remove the words “b*tch” and “ho” from rap lyrics when he added.  “Aren’t there bitches out there?,” he questioned.  “Don’t they exist?  Those types of women exist, and if they didn’t it’d be different.  When someone yells in a room full of women that word ‘dyke,’ my mother isn’t insulted because she isn’t one.”

No matter if those types of women exist or not David Banner obviously does not understand it does no one any good to use offensive language that objectifies all women.  We know that all people are not the N-word, however, we should not allow white people to use the word.  Additionally, two wrongs does not make a right.  Banner’s attempt to state that because the government may have some responsibility in the communities in America that are infested with drugs does not make it right for the men and women that decide to become beneficiaries of that ugly reality.  If Banner is so noble he should hold himself and a higher standard and take more pride in himself than to argue “they do it so it makes it alright for me to do it as well.”  Banner continued to put his foot in his mouth by saying:  “Aren’t there bitches out there?,” he says.  “Don’t they exit?  Those types of women exist, and if they didn’t it’d be different.  When someone yells in a room full of women the word ‘dyke,’ my mother isn’t insulted because she isn’t one.”  Banner went on to say that rap is an art and that he says whatever the hell he wants and that he uses those words because they are graphic and they hurt.  The rapper said they get people’s attention and they where many rappers come from that is how they speak.  Should all African American’s be painted with a broad brush by a few individuals that were born poor, uneducated, and in drug infested communities?  It would be better to be quite and thought of as a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Karrie Steffans is blabbing all of her bedroom business again in “The Vixen Diaries,” tell-all book that continues to chronicle her trysts with famous rappers and athletes that began with her first memoir, “Confessions of a Video Vixen.”  The new book purports to offer self-help advice in addition to providing details of her sexual encounter with such celebs as Mike Tyson and boxer Antonio TarverSteffans also denies that she was a catalyst for the divorce of Halle Barry and Eric Benet, and says she never once came between Chris Rock and his wife Malaak Compton Rock as rumored.  The author also says she never had sex with Whitney Houston’s ex-husband Bobby Brown, but has always considered him a close friend—that is until he allegedly belittled their friendship.

According to excerpts from “Diaries” reported in the New York Daily News, Steffans writes:  “I kept Bobby close to my heart.”  Meeting after a time apart, “he embraced me as I whispered, ‘Iove you,’ and he returned, ‘I love you, too.’”  But she says Brown later told “me I had done nothing for him, while he was sleeping in my home, eating, my food, driving my car, and spending my money.” After a tryst with Ray J, she told Brown that the rapper claimed he’d added Whitney’s name to his bedpost.  “I could hardly wait to get the news out, to tear (Bobby’s) heart apart and hurt him the way he hurt me, I wanted him to go to bed that night with the image of his wife and another man.”

Here are more Obnoxious excerpts from “Vixen Diaries”:

Regarding Mike Tyson, she writes, “loves the same way he fights: hard and rough.  His kisses are like uppercuts, and his lovemaking is like a title match.  And as he proved against Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson is a biter.  His passion manifested through pain as…I endured the extreme force of his 200 pound frame colliding into mine, he kissed, sucked and bit me over zealously.  I was in excruciating pain as we continued in this manner for several hours.  At the end, I was covered in bruises and bite marks and vowed to never have sex with him again.”  She also slept with boxer Antonio Tarver shortly before his marriage.  As she watched Antonio kiss his new wife, Steffans muses, “I recalled his face and lips exploring my body…I wondered how I tasted to her.”

Jamie Foxx told her, “Damn, you’re pretty!” when they met.  “When Jamie Foxx offers to massage your body at four in the morning, after a bottle of Champagne and two shots of Patron, it’s hard to say no,” she writes.  However, Jamie soon figured out she was “that Karrine.”  Foxx ran in the other direction, leaving the author” depressed.  Jamie had no idea that he made me cry all the way home and in the days followed.”  Comic Bill Maher delivered her greatest heartache.  “In January of 2006, Bill and I split.  Three days later, I suffered an emotional breakdown and was sent to the hospital for psychiatric observation.  I cut my wrists and started drinking myself into an emotional tailspin.  At the end of the night, the love of my life was gone and so was my son, Naiim,” taken away by Child Services.

According to reports, Karrine eventually got her son back.  And not only does she remain friends with Maher, she dedicates the book to him as well.  Meanwhile Steffans was on Detroit’s WJLB radio the other morning with Coco, Foolish and Mr. Chase and immediately things got off to a bad start.  Of all things she now objects to being called “Superhead.” After that is when and not long before things started to go downhill for the author.  She abruptly ended the interview by blurting out:  “I cannot talk to ignorant black folks!”

It most obvious that Michael Vick has a very serious problem or he suffers from some type of mental illness, in previous reports I stated that he was just a dumb jock—but it has to be more than just stupidity at this point.  Things are getting worse by the day for Michael Vick.  Not even 24 hours after the state of Virginia charged him in the dogfighting case, a drug test has detected marijuana in his system.  Due to the dirty test result, U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson placed special conditions on Vick’s release, including restricting him to his home between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. with electronic monitoring and ordering him to submit to random drug testing.  Hudson’s order also requires Vick to participate in inpatient or out patient substance therapy and mental health counseling, if the pretrial services officer or supervising officer deems it appropriate.  Vick must pay for the treatment.

The urine sample was taken on September 13, according to a document by a federal probation officer that was field in U.S. District Court on Wednesday.  Because he violated the conditions of his release, Hudson may take that into a court at sentencing.  “Every judge considers pretty seriously if they feel that the defendant has flaunted the conditions for release,” criminal procedure expert Lingam alone explained to the Associated Press.  “It’s certainly not a smart thing to do.”  Well, we all know that Mick is not rocket scientist so he might have gotten high to cope with his problems.  Vick was released after pleading guilty to financing a dogfighting enterprise on his Surry County, Virginia property.  He faces up to five years in prison at this scheduled sentencing December 10.  The 27-year-old was placed under pretrial release supervision by U.S. Magistrate Dennis Dohnal in July.  The restriction included refraining form use or unlawful possession of narcotic drugs or other controlled substances.  The random drug testing ordered Wednesday could include urine testing, the wearing of a sweat patch, a remote alcohol testing system or any form of prohibited substance screening or testing.  On Tuesday, Vick also was indicted on state charges of beating or killing or causing dogs to fight other dogs and engaging in or promoting dogfighting.  Each felony is punishable by up to five years in prison.

There is a lot that I can say about Michael Vick, but it is more than obvious that he is a dumb jock and I am not one to kick a man when he is down.  Vick might have been smoking weed to calm his nervous through this stressful time in his life.  I know if I was in his shoes I would have to be heavily medically sedated to just get through the day.  Additionally, it is very possible that Mick has herpes and due to his settling that case out of court and we all know that Herpes is an STD that flairs up under extreme stress.  ESPN had a town hall meeting on Vick last week in Atlanta and some people that were in attendance are coming down on him very hard.  Former Atlanta Falcon, Chuck Smith was constantly heckled by the attendees and was very unforgiving of Mick and his poor choices.  During a conversation with Chuck after the meeting he stated that Vick was not open or willing to receive guidance by older player that attempted to reach out to him on several occasions.  Smith went on to say that he could see this coming and that Vick is in direct violation of the NFL’s no gambling contract clause.

Terrance Mathis was also a member of the panel and said to be a close friend of Vick he even stated that during our talk Mick called him twice.  “He is not doing well, in fact when I talked to him last night he was crying,” Mathis shared.  “He is back in Atlanta keeping a low profile,” Mathis continued.  Seems that the former football player was more on Vick’s side, but clear that he is in serious trouble and feels that he should do some jail time.  With Mick Vick having friends like Mathis telling the media that he should do some jail time, he does not need any enemies.  Terrance Mathis, who had been very loquacious about Vick’s problems, became tight lipped about his own legal issues.  Mathis is been sued by several individuals in Atlanta that he attempted to do business with and refused on payment.  My girl Marcelle English, former producer for V-103 is in a legal battle with the former professional football player.  English said he is basically a liar and does not want to pay up for all of her PR services.   Mathis purportedly got in way over his head with an attempt to do a deal with Nascar.  Needless to say it failed and all the people he convinced to go in with him lost some big bucks except for Mathis.  No one knows where the money went, but Terrance might have an idea.

According to my “Street Committee”…It you thought that I did not have an update about the Shaq and Shaunie divorce saga you were wrong. Obnoxious has obtained some more juicy details on the NBA superstar’s rocky marriage. As I reported not long ago it was some speculation that Shaquille O’Neal got a woman pregnant before he and Shaunie separated. Now Obnoxious has learned that Shaq left Shaunie to be with his new girlfriend—Shaq and the woman are said to be currently dating. Shaunie was feed up with Shaq and his cheating. According to an insider Shaq is demanding all of the information on his soon to be ex-wife’s financials to one find out if she purchased a house for her Cuban trainer and if she really stole 9 million dollars from her husband once she found out that Shaq had a bastard baby on the way.

If you thought that the Salt N Pepa reality show was going to be interesting before—wait until you hear this.  A source who works for VH1 told Obnoxious that during the taping of and episode, the two ladies got into a fist fight.  The fight according to the network insider was caught on tape.  The insider, who spoke exclusively to Obnoxious, explained the footage.  “There was a lot of conflict building up and one day it just exploded.  The two women got physical and producers had to break them up.”  Our source continued, “There were some punches thrown and a lot of tussling.”  When I asked my source which woman they believed won the fight?  The source told me it did not get too serious, but from what I saw was getting the upper hand.  In case you were wondering the police were not called and neither woman needed medical attention.

Earlier in my column I discussed in detail some of the things we can look forward to in Superhead’s new book “The Vixen Diaries.”  But I did not what might be one juiciest parts of the book.  In a chapter Superhead describes a relationship that she had with a young African American celebrity that she calls “Baby Boy”.  Well, it seems that the celebrity that she’s talking about is none other that 18 year-old R&B superstar Chris Brown.  Here is how Superhead describes what she thought of Chris Brown the first time they met:

He is beautiful and tall, with a smile that would melt any girl’s heart, but she is young, very young.  As we were being introduced in the midst of a crowded room, eyes on us, I was afraid to look at him.  He had an air about himself that I couldn’t comprehend.  For someone so young, he carried himself like and experienced man.  The young man had class and smarts—and by the end of the night, he had me.  He planted his lip on mine, and his sweet kiss extinguished my fight as I lay on my back, inviting him to mount me, to make love to me, to make it impossible to do without him for this night forward.  Slow and sensual, he moved inside me.  Then I rolled on top of him, surprised by his size, unwilling and unable to handle it all.  Our eyes were locked and fixed on each other as we explored each other’s bodies and needs; I felt him and he felt me, and then it was over.  Well, it seems that Chris Brown may be young but he had some serious experience.

Ryan Cameron, radio show host out of Atlanta has a new show that will air on Starz!  Your boy got to hang out at a few of the first tapings of Ryan Cameron UncensoredDavid Letterman and those other late night guys better look out.  Cameron’s show has a great deal of promise and will most likely do well.  The radio show host is a natural, with a perfect combination of comedy and great interview skills.  Some of his first guests was Young Joc, Ne-Yo, Jermaine Dupri, Warrick Dunn of the Atlanta Falcons, Chirs Tucker, and others.  With a great number of years in radio he will not hurt for guests.  While backstage I was able to talk to Ne-Yo and got him to shed light on a number of situations where his name has come up.  First off Ne-Yo did not go shopping with Tonex and does not even know the Gospel Artist.  Obnoxious had gotten word that the two of them were working on an album.  Ne-Yo stated that he thought that Tonex was awesomely talented, but had some very serious mental issues.  He said that he could not speak about the situation with him and Jessie White and if the child was actually his or not due to it being a legal matter.  He did clear up the rumor that he and Britney Spears had some type of beef.  According to Ne-Yo he was asked to provide some music for her upcoming album and he honored the request, but never hear back from Spears or her people and they had been communicating prior to her breakdown.  However, his calls where never answered so he decided to give the songs to Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls for her solo project.  Needless to say Ne-Yo’s executive decision pissed off Britney.   While hanging back stage at the show I spoke to Warrick Dunn, who said that he was confidant that he would not play with Michael Vick again and especially not on the Atlanta Falcons.  Ryan was great with is comedy and interviews.  Due to the show being on cable Ryan is able to get raw giving the viewer an even mixture of a late night talk show with a Chris Rock feel.  Ryan is going to put Atlanta on the map!

I was at Negril in New York City having dinner the other night with some of my friends and low and behold, so was R&B singer J. Holiday and model Jessica White.  Last I heard she was dating John Legend.  But I guess not any more.  J. and Jessica were all hugged up and he was feeding her.  They kept laughing and he kept caressing the side of her face.  It was rather romantic.

Last week I said the following about the photos I had obtained of Oacar De La Hoya.  “Well I do not know what to say about these photos of boxer Oscar De La Hoya dressed in drag.  It is a possibility they may not be real, but if they are fakes someone did a really good job.  You be the judge for yourself!”  Now this week we have more of him and in other hot naughty girl outfits.  It looks like Oscar may have just got caught being himself or should I say herself.    You have officially been choked by the bowtie!
