A number of you contacted me and asked for me to write something about my experience at the Democratic National Convention last year. Now most times I would not recap on such an old story, but to the historic value of this one it is best for me to pause and reflect. On the night when the Senator Barack Obama accepted the Democratic nomination for president in Denver in a packed Invesco Field; the feeling was something similar to that you get in church when the spirit is high. Goose bumps popped out on your arm and the hair on the back of your neck stood up when he took the stage that was packed heavy with entertainers to witness the historic occasion. Spike Lee, Kerry Washington, Forrest Whitacker, and Rashida Jones were some of the first to catch my eye. While Kany West, N.E.R.D., Usher, and Wyclef Jean performed and the King of Hip Hop Russell Simmons and the Black Eyed Peas made appearances at a number of the hot ticketed parties in conjunction with the convention. Now I have to tell you that it was a fight to get in and to get a good seat, but I made it happen. Now as I think about the awesome time as it approaches a year since the moving event that will forever be a memory that I hold in honor to say I was there.
