Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. and nominee Terrence Howard are the latest actors to join George Lucas' upcoming film "Red Tails," about the young African American WWII pilots known as the Tuskegee Airmen. The duo round out the previously cast Bryand Cranston, Ne-Yo, Method Man, 90210's Tristan Wilds, Nate Parker, and Elijah Kelley, among others. The film is fictional take inspired by the real-life Tuskegee Airman, the United States' first all-black aerial combat unit. John Ridley wrote the script based on a story by executive producer, George Lucas. "I've been wanted to do ‘Red Tails' for 20 years, and we've finally that the means to showcase the skill of the Tuskegee pilots," Lucas told reporters. "We're working on techniques which will give us the first true look at the aerial dogfighting if the era." Bryan Cranston, David Oyelowo, Kevin Phillips, Rick Otto, Lee Tergesen, and Andre Royo are also apart of this amazing cast. Two decades in the making, Lucas said the film is about ready to begin filming throughout Europe under director Anthony Hemingway. This is one that I cannot wait to see and suggest everyone go see it when it comes to the big screen. As a former U.S. History teacher I cannot articulate my love for this type of African American History, which is really American History-because it can be no US History without talking about African Americans. Big shot out to my good friend DeShawn Toussiant, who's grandfather is one of the Tuskegee Airman, we have to go see this move together when it come out man!
